How much is a rhinoplasty consultation on Harley Street?
My rhinoplasty consultation at 9 Harley Street costs £250. It lasts 60 to 90 minutes, includes VECTRA 3D imaging and simulation, and the full fee is credited against your surgery if you decide to go ahead. Your second consultation, which every patient has before a date is booked, is included.
For context, in my October 2026 audit of published London fees, consultation charges ranged from £100 (credited to surgery at two practices), through £240, £250 and £275, up to £300 and £350. Some are credited to surgery and some are not. Some clinics offer a free first visit, then charge separately for imaging and pre-operative appointments. Whoever you see, ask one question: what is the total cost of everything before I am booked for surgery?

What happens at a rhinoplasty consultation with me?
You see me, not an adviser, for the whole appointment. This is what we cover, in roughly this order.

What you would like to change, and why
We start with you, not with your nose. I want to know what bothers you, what you would like to keep, how long you have been thinking about it, and whether anything else, such as an upcoming event or someone else's opinion, is driving the timing.

Your breathing and medical history
I ask about blockage, sleep, past injuries, allergies or hay fever, previous nasal surgery, your general health and any medicines or supplements you take. A nose that has been broken before, or operated on before, changes the plan.

Examining the outside and the inside of your nose
I assess your skin thickness, the support of the tip and the bridge, and your facial proportions. Then I look inside with an endoscope at the septum, the nasal valves and the turbinates, because a nose that looks better but breathes worse is not a good result.

3D imaging
I take a 3D VECTRA scan and we look at a simulated profile together. It is a way of agreeing what you want and what is realistic for your nose; it is not a promise of an exact result.

My recommendation, including if it is no
I explain what I would do and why: the technique, open or closed, what happens on the day, the recovery, and the risks that apply to you. If I think surgery will not give you what you want, or is not right for you, I will say so.

A written plan and quote
You receive a letter summarising what we discussed and a written quote setting out the surgeon, anaesthetist, hospital and twelve months of follow-up, so you can compare it fairly with anyone else.

Your second consultation, then time to think
Every patient has a second consultation with me before a date is booked, and it is included. We go over the plan, your questions and the consent form. Surgery cannot then take place for at least two weeks.
Can I start with a video consultation?
Yes. If you live outside London, or would like to talk it through before travelling, a video consultation is a good first step. We can cover what you would like to change, your breathing and your history, and whether surgery is likely to help. A video consultation costs £250, credited to your surgery if you go ahead. Before any operation is planned I still need to see you in person, to examine the inside of your nose and take 3D images; that visit then counts as your included second consultation. How should I prepare for my consultation?
- Bring a list of your medicines and supplements.
- Bring letters or operation notes from any previous nasal surgery.
- Fill in the short questionnaire I send you about your breathing and what you would like to change. It takes about 15 minutes.
- Write your questions down so nothing is forgotten.
- If your problem is breathing and you are insured, call your insurer first for a pre-authorisation code and bring it with your membership number.
Choosing your rhinoplasty surgeon
The consultation is where you decide whether you trust the surgeon, not only whether you like the plan. In the UK, rhinoplasty is done by ENT surgeons and by plastic surgeons. What matters is real experience of nose surgery and an understanding of breathing as well as appearance. My own training covers both: I am an ENT surgeon with a facial plastic surgery fellowship.
A good consultation should leave you understanding why a particular procedure suits your face, whether it will be an open rhinoplasty or a closed rhinoplasty, what a natural final result could look like for you, and what the potential complications are. If you have a crooked nose, breathing problems or previous surgery, these change the surgical plan and your care afterwards, so make sure they are examined, not just photographed. It is also important to see photos of different patients with noses like yours.
If you feel rushed, or a surgeon avoids questions about your aesthetic goals or what happens if treatment needs revising, take that seriously. No one should ask you to book plastic surgery on the day of your first visit.
Questions to ask any surgeon at a rhinoplasty consultation
Whoever you see, including me, these questions tell you most of what you need to know:
- Are you on the GMC specialist register, and in which specialty?
- How many rhinoplasties do you do each year, and will you do the whole operation yourself?
- How will you check my breathing, and protect it?
- What exactly does the quoted price include, and how long is follow-up?
- What happens, and what does it cost, if a revision is needed?
- Can I see results in patients with a nose like mine?
